4. Can you tell us more about the Ring System?
Typically in other games you create a character and pick a class that gives you skills that you are locked into. You might build up a skill tree but you will not have abilities that other classes might have. However ingaia gold, the players have already developed characters on our site that they love the look and feel of that they don’t want to change. We didn’t want to create a bunch of items that the players were forced to wear on their avatar and then they wouldn’t be able to look the way they wanted to. One of the things we wanted to preserve was that personality. Instead, we focused on making the skills into rings. The rings can be worn in any arrangement that you want. As you find rings throughout the world, you will be able to change your skill set. Players will be able to do that any time by just coming back to the Null Chamber. You can be a tank one minute, go back to the Null chamber, switch out your rings, and Voila! You are a healer. You can be anything you want to day to day. Players will be able to ‘class’ themselves a bit because let’s say if they have 4 rings of a special set they will get special bonus powers. For example if you have 4 rings from the Ninja set, players will get the stealth orientated bonuses like increase to your dodge and accuracy.
How many sets will be in the game?
Currently we have 4: Ninja, Pirate, Chef, and Medic. But we will be adding many more as time goes on. The Chef is a buff oriented class. There are buffs, debuffs, and things like ‘Maximum Health’ or ‘Pot-lid’ which is a deflection spell.
6. What is the Null Chamber?
It is a place you can come to after you’ve been defeated by monsters to change your skills through your rings and power up items so that you can become more advanced and stronger. No one knows where this Null chamber is…it’s sort of a mystery in the plot line.
7. You mentioned wanting to preserve the look of the players’ Avatars. As it is now, the players are going to simply walk into the MMOG and look however they look now?
Yes, they can come in their prom dress! One of the important things about this is we are not a separate product from the rest of the site. We are very heavily integrated into the gaia online gold experience. It is a seamless transition into the MMOG. There were 3 basic rules when we began designing: 1. We Shall Not Change the Avatar, 2. Risk=Reward, 3. Must be present to win!
